The constant demand of rosaries by the people of the Arabic world, led to the creation of new types of rosaries which were more durable than those made of amber.

According to the history, an Egyptian chemist, called Faturan, was manufacturing magnificent beads which were made of amber, rosin, bakelite and other natural substances.

However, the real history of Faturan is rather different. Since the middle of 19th century until the year 1940, this specific material was being manufactured in laboratories in Hamburg. The Arab traders of that era, were buying Faturan in bar - forms in order to make beads for rosaries and jewelry.

The Faturan komboloy has a unique red - burgundy color. Its specific gravity, its great resistance and the limited production contribute to the uniqueness and beauty of Faturan.
